Message from the Executive
Director
Dear RPA Members:
Welcome to the Society of
Registered Professional Adjusters. After serving as the
Executive Vice President of the NAIIA for over 25 years, I am proud to
take on my new role as Executive Director of the Society. My
retirement may have been short lived but my commitment to our industry is
unwaivering.
In my new
role with the Society, I want to assure each of you that I will be here to
continue the role of my predecessor, Pam Murphy, as a Director who
acknowledges the professionalism of our industry and each designee of the
RPA. I am here to answer any of your questions and assist all new
applicants as they strive to earn the RPA designation.
I would like to thank Pam Murphy for her service to the Society and her assistance to me during the transition as the new Executive Director of the Society.
Pam served as ED for 5 years as a true proponent of the insurance claims
professional. As she embarks on a new opportunity, we wish her well.
I will
continue the improvements instituted by our Board of Directors which has
improved the Society including:
-
Easier Application and
Testing Process. Our website now gives both members and prospective members information
and a process to submit an application easier, take a test online with
immediate results, and a streamlined testing mechanism that will
demonstrate the prospective designee's knowledge of the claims
industry.
-
Easier Continuing
Education Submission. In what is the most sweeping
improvement to the RPA CE submission process, members no longer are
required to submit documents and materials to pre-approve CE's.
In fact, in a membership of professionals, we acknowledge that you are
honest and professional and your certification of having taken a
course is sufficient that a course was taken.
-
Outreach
Programs. The RPA is reaching out to various industry
leaders and organizations to promote the RPA and the importance of
utilizing RPA designees. The RPA has made presentations during
various Meet & Greet locations throughout the year.
-
All
Volunteer Board of Directors. The new vision of the RPA realizes
the importance of the RPA designation in an industry which sometimes
gets lost in the claims it handles and loses sight of the
professionals it expects to be there to handle the claims of the
future. The Board volunteers its time and efforts to promote the
Society's RPA designees while keeping the costs associated with
running an international organization.
We sincerely hope you utilize
our website. Whenever you have any comments or suggestions,
don't hesitate to contact us and let us know!
Sincerely,
Dave Mehren
